Virtual, in-person, in-home or walk & talk

I am a Registered Social Worker providing counselling and psychotherapy in person to the Kemptville area and virtually across the province of Ontario. Having worked in various supporting roles since 1997, I bring empathy and compassion from lived personal experience with childhood trauma, infertility, miscarriage, raising neurodivergent children, palliating loved ones at home and walking the path of grief, death and bereavement, many times.
My goal is to hold a safe and non judgmental space to support people through their journey of life’s most challenging moments and towards a path of healing, acceptance and growth.
Let me support you in your journey and we will find a new path together.

Not everyone fits into the same type of approach. Find what counselling approach works best for you.

My approach to therapy provides a calm and accepting space to allow people to discuss their life challenges, obstacles, barriers or reasons for feeling stuck. It allows me to draw on a person's strengths to develop strategies so they can attain their goals and work towards a more balanced and fulfilling life. In my practice, I draw on various modalities, with Emotionally Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory being my primary lens. Since I'm driven by client centeredness, I offer 4 versatile therapy formats to best suit your personal needs; virtual, in-person, in-home or walk & talk.

I graduated from St Lawrence College with my diploma in Child and Youth Work (CYW) in 1997 with a passion for working with children struggling with mental health issues. While working in Foster Care I was motivated to complete my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Carleton University in 2001 with the intention of continuing to work with underprivileged youth. However, it was during this time that I became the caregiver to my palliative mother which inspired me to pivot to working in healthcare with adults and seniors. I completed my Masters in Social Work (MSW) at McGill University in 2002 with a focus on grief and bereavement which became the building blocks for counselling over the past 23 years. My work has been with diverse client demographics, struggling with both acute and chronic health conditions and I've had the privilege to support people through the journey of death, both in hospital and at home.
When I'm not in practice, I'm spending time with my family & friends and enjoying all that nature has to offer. I am also nearing the end of my Yoga Teacher Course (RYT 200) and pursuing my Death, Dying and Bereavement Certification.
